The Haidara Foundation for Peace and Human Development started the “Distribution of Eid al-Adha clothing” to the children of poor, displaced and marginalized families in the secretariat of the capital.
The Foundation’s President Suhair AlMaeedhi said that the project comes for the fifth year in a row within the framework of implementing the Foundation’s development program, which seeks to achieve economic empowerment for poor families.
In this context, she pointed out that Haidara is working to train and qualify women in the field of sewing clothes in the sewing department of the foundation.
She stressed the Foundation’s continued keenness to encourage them and develop their skills by training them, empowering them with the craft and encouraging them to secure all what they need, and then the Foundation buys their products and provides sewing machines as gifts for the women.
AlMaeedhi indicated that this year’s “Eid al-Adha clothing” targets 350 children with the funding and cooperation of the United Humanitarian Foundation UHF and under the supervision of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
The delegates of the Supreme Council for the Administration and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, the Capital Secretariat Branch, praised the foundation’s work and the smoothness of the procedures for distributing Eid clothing to the beneficiaries.
Ms. Suhair AlMaeedhi stressed the importance of the role assigned to local organizations in strengthening the principle of social solidarity and contributing to everything that would help the families in need, and bring joy and pleasure to the hearts of their children, especially during the days of Eid.
