The educational system in Yemen has suffered a significant deterioration in the past decades, but the ongoing war since March 2015 has constituted an additional chapter in the deterioration of this system.
3 million Yemeni children are not enrolled in school, and more than 8 million children in Yemen are in need of educational assistance, according to non-governmental organizations. Children deprived of education may be exposed to the risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and exit into the labor market without caring about the future and the cadres and competencies they need to advance.
